The Tobin-Hewett Gallery is pleased to present works by an exceptional group of artists, both faculty and alumni from Sheridan College including Maciej Dyszkiewicz, Rika Hawes, Blaise Campbell, Jeff Goodman and recently appointed Studio Head, Jeanne Marie Ferraro. Sheridan boasts one of the oldest and, with over 20 courses in blowing, casting, kilnworking and engraving, one of the largest educational glass programs in North America. Since 1970, the studio and its faculty have been dedicated to the development of glass art, as both an artist’s medium with incredible expressive potential, and as a studio discipline linking craft, design and sculptural objects.

Daniel Crichton served as the Studio Head of the Glass Program at Sheridan from 1979 until his death in 2002. Daniel was recognized for his exceptional, personal works with Canada’s most prestigious awards including the Prix Saidye Bronfman Award for Crafts and instatement into the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. He leaves a legacy of friends, students and alumni who excel in the field of contemporary studio glass in their creativity, design and technical skills.

In thanks for his dedication to the field of studio glass the Tobin-Hewett Gallery will contribute a portion of proceeds from Sheridan Glass exhibition sales to the Daniel Crichton Glass Endowment Fund, which benefits the glass students of Sheridan College.
